Mirabelle Jones is an artistic researcher with dual appointments as an industrial PhD between the University of Copenhagen’s Human-Centered Computing section and Novo Nordisk’s AI Center of Excellence.
Their work employs artistic methods to critically investigate relations to personalized synthetic representations of the self such as AI clones, digital dopplegangers, and individualized new media. They bridge academic inquiry and industry innovation with consideration to how AI impacts the pharmaceutical industry. Their research endeavors are marked by a concern to the relations formed with AI systems that are not only advanced in functionality but also sensitive to the social and ethical dimensions of human-AI interaction. Their doctoral research specifically interrogates how emergent technologies such as deep fake and personalized natural language processing models are deployed at an increasing rate in comparison to the consideration of ethical concerns.
They hold an MFA in Book Art and Creative Writing from Mills College as well as a B.A. in Language Arts from the University of California in Santa Cruz.
