Impossible Futures Lab

The ambition of DCODE is to fundamentally rethink design for our digital future. Our empirical research and design experimentations are meant to create pathways to a digital transformation of society that is inclusive and sustainable. Three years into the program, we have generated insights and developed approaches that challenge established norms of technology and algorithmic imaginaries and that engage with AI, digital twins, synthetic data generation, and the social life of algorithms, in ways that anticipate new acts of interfacing and agonism and promote situated forms of ethics in design practice.
